Sora Japanese Cuisine & Sushi Bar in Detroit

Welcoming and courteous staff, excellent food, the option to sit outside or inside(at nights you will have all the city lights as a nice back drop), a decent bar. I think it is on par with the other Japanese restaurants in Kingston for sure. One of my favourite spots.

Great service paired with great food

Great food, excellent service and a very good ambience. The ramen was done very well, the noodles were delicious and maintained a good body, the broth wasn't too salty and the nori and pork (from what I ordered) were perfect. The sushi was amazing, definitely a great place for sushi fans and those that want to try for the first time.

I went to this place yesterday, Valentine's Day, and it was a good choice to have my date. The service was well paced and the food was absolutely delicious! Inside arrangment is a small but outside on the roof is lovely- It has a great view! However, the down side is that there if it rains then those dining on the roof will have to be relocated inside which can be inconvenient if inside seatings are already full. But overall i would definitely come back here.

Rolls were great as always and the long island iced tea was phenomenal.

Always great Sushi. Never been disappointed. Oh and the price is better than East Japanese. Hope this doesn't drive up the price lol

The ambiance here is everything. Take the roof settings in the night time and you won't regret it. I dont even remember my waiter name but he delivered exceptional service. Although we some points had to wait a bit bcuz they had a full house but was understaffed. He did explain though. The food was very tasty and well prepared and the cuisine was just the difference we were looking for. This was a birthday treat and I really enjoyed the relaxing ambiance and the terrific tastes. Definitely going back

Went on my birthday, wasn't sure what I wanted to order. I spoke to the Sushi Chef/Owner Takahashi, I told him I wanted the most authentic sushi experience and he did not disappoint! Best Sushi Meal I've Ever Had!...Jozen White Sake Top Shelf Stuff!! #ReturnCustomer

Very efficient service as they have a egg shaped call button at each table to signal inside to the staff if you need anything. The food is great and the menu is wide. The view if the city is appreciated as a wonderful backdrop to this oasis in the city

Sora Japanese is the perfect place for a date or business meeting. The views from the rooftop are beautiful in the evening. I wish I was able to attend during a sunset. The food was good and the prices were average. I would recommend this location if you want to impress clientele or a date because of the views and food.

After a brisk climb up the stairs, awaits Sora Japanese Sky Cuisine. We were greeted with great customer service and we were given a button to alert the restaurant of the need for a waiter. Naturally, we had to test it. Sure enough, a waiter came running after the button push. We were pleasantly surprised.The view outside is amazing and the indoor section is well decorated. The food was amazing. The eel sushi roll I had at Sora is, to this day, my favourite sushi roll of ALL TIME and when I dipped it in the eel sauce? H-E-A-V-E-NI was also able to introduce my friends to sashimi and sake. Like me, they preferred the salmon/tuna sashimi.Stop what you're doing and try the eel sushi roll at Sora.

It was a fantastic experience! It was my brother's birthday and he enjoyed himself more than his last birthday! He even tipped the waiter because the service in his words was S class!

The service was good, not great but good. Love the fact that you get your own remote to press to notify when you're ready to order. The food also was great. What I loved most was the fried crab legs, simply amazing. This is where I learnt how to use Chopsticks 😎

Since they have rejected my review I'll be reposting.....if I could give zero these people would get it. The first time I tried them the didnt have 2 ingredients. Instead of notifying me they have the meal and charged the full price without suggesting additionally. When the manager was spoken to about the situation he did nothing. Absolutely nothing! Zero for dishonesty zero for customer service and zero for food...your best bet is easy Japanese for your money

Food is great! Went on a Saturday, there was live music which was a lovely touch, kind staff who were very accommodating for a last minute party of 10. Ambiance was also good. This place is a hidden gem.

Sora is my absolute favourite spot in Kingston. The rooftop at night is perfect for a girls night out, birthday or anniversary celebration, or anything for that matter. Service is always great, everyone is pleasant and ready to assist and the food is top notch. I will always recommend Sora when asked where to eat.

I'm no sushi connoisseur, so I can only say I liked what I had to eat. Management would do well to get wait staff more organised and efficient. The bartender needs to work on their speed; one basic drink need not take 5mins when you're only serving one person.

I loved everything about this experience. The setting created a rich and cozy ambiance for a great night. There was the option of dining indoor or outdoor. I opted for outdoor dining. The customer service was on point! A+ for attentive waiters who served with good attitudes. The food was amazingly scrumptious! Try the Mix Fried Combo or the Teriyaki Shrimp! And i encourage you try the octopus if you haven't eaten it. Don't go simply to eat food. Go for the experience and trying something new.

The ambiance is nice, especially the view from the balcony. The customer service was also really good. We were attended to promptly and the wait for our meals was short. The presentation of the food was appealing and the portions were big. We were almost full from the appetizer. It was all very sumptuous. We would definitely visit again.

My kaisen don bowl was perfect .The fish was firm and fresh and the meal very flavorful.

Excellent service and staff, the decor even on a rainy day was inviting and clean. Our order was taken correctly and delivered quickly by a courteous waitress. My Strawberry mojito done with fresh strawberry was very nice and our meal made with fresh ingredients done to order made a world of difference to our dining. Looking forward to my return dining experience.

I liked the indoor and outdoor dining option. The balcony and extended view of New Kingston is sublime. Oh yeah, the food is pretty good.

Very good selection. Amazing service and a nice atmosphere. Only draw back was that the drinks were the best. Overall such a good experience. Props once more for the service. Very attentive and pleasant waiter and greeter.

I always love eating at this place! It's busy at dinner time so I prefer doing lunches here. The food is always delicious and healthy. They also have outdoor dining.
